1. Purpose of the App:
   barri is designed to help you discover recipes and make informed choices about products based on your dietary preferences. The app allows you to scan product barcodes, explore personalized recipe recommendations and generate AI-powered recipes.

2. AI-Generated Recipes:
   Recipes in the app are generated using artificial intelligence technology from OpenAI. While we aim for variety and creativity, some recipes may contain inaccuracies or may not fully align with your dietary needs. Barri does not verify the nutritional values, ingredient compatibility or safety of AI-generated recipes. Users should review ingredients carefully, particularly for allergies or intolerances. barri is not responsible for any issues arising from reliance on AI-generated recipes. Users should not enter personal or sensitive data (e.g., names, addresses, financial details) into the AI input fields, as this data is processed in real time.

3. AI Travel Cards and Translations:
   barri may provide a feature that allows users to generate “travel cards” using artificial intelligence. These cards are intended to help communicate dietary preferences, restrictions or allergies in different languages when traveling abroad.
   While we strive to provide helpful and accurate translations, barri does not guarantee the correctness, completeness or cultural appropriateness of any translated content. Translations may contain errors, omissions or nuances that could lead to misunderstandings.
   Users acknowledge and agree that:

   1. Travel cards are provided for convenience only and should not be relied upon as the sole means of communicating dietary restrictions.

   2. barri is not responsible for any miscommunication, misunderstanding, or adverse outcomes (including allergic reactions or dietary issues) resulting from the use of these translations.

   3. Users remain fully responsible for verifying the accuracy of the information and for clearly communicating their dietary needs when necessary.
      By using this feature, users accept that it is used at their own risk.
      This feature falls under the same limitation of liability as described in Section 8.

4. Ownership of Recipes:
   All AI-generated recipes provided through barri are owned by barri. Users are granted a license to use these recipes for personal, non-commercial purposes. Redistribution or commercial use without permission is prohibited.

5. Accuracy of Information: While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, barri may not capture all details or changes in product formulations. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the information provided by the app.

6. "May Contain Traces of" Disclaimer: barri does not analyze or consider the "may contain traces of" information found on product labels. Users are advised to use their discretion and consult additional sources if they have concerns about allergen cross-contamination.

7. Potential Mistakes: Despite our best efforts, there may be mistakes or inaccuracies in the information provided by barri. Users acknowledge that they use the app at their own risk and are responsible for verifying product information independently.

8. Limitation of Liability: barri and its affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:

   1. Reliance on AI-generated recipes

   2. Reliance on the app 

   3. Inaccurate product information

   4. Health-related or allergic reactions due to recipe or product use

Users agree to use the app at their own risk and should verify information independently.

9. User-Contributed Images:

1. Product Images: Whenever a user adds products to our database, they may take photos of these products. By doing so, you grant barri a license to use these images under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License for purposes such as improving our services, marketing, and other operational activities.

2. Recipe Images: By uploading images of recipes, you grant barri a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, create derivative works from, distribute, and publicly display such images for purposes including but not limited to display within the app and marketing promotions, without any obligation to provide attribution or compensation. Users retain ownership of their images but confirm that they have the necessary rights and that the content does not infringe on third-party rights.

10. . Changes to Terms: barri reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Users will be notified of any significant changes, and continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Credits: barri utilizes data from the Open Food Facts database, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) and Database Contents License. Additional data may be sourced from our own manually entered database. Product information from Open Food Facts can be found at https://world.openfoodfacts.org/product/ean.
